Casino is a wonderful town set amongst beautiful countryside. The locals are very friendly and the community spirit is strong. It is situated amid the lush pastures of the northern coast of New South Wales, along the banks of the Richmond River. Just 256 km from Brisbane and 726 km from Sydney, it is a wonderful place to visit and live.

The lifestyle is idyllic as the streets are wide and safe for children to play and the many Art Deco buildings bring a sense of history. Now however, with many exciting and diverse business opportunities becoming evident, Casino has evolved into a highly desirable place to settle for work and to raise a family.

Casino was originally home to the Bundjalung people and the interest in their Aboriginal heritage remains important to the town today. A visit to the Casino Folk Museum is a must and the Casino and District Historical Society has the sole aim of preserving the Aboriginal culture, with many exhibits and artefacts of that time. There is also a fascinating collection of furniture, newspapers and photographs from bygone eras.

There is much to do in the area once you have finished admiring the historical buildings; such as the Richmond Range National Park in Mallanganee and the Casino Miniature Railway. The Platypus Pool is wonderful and these amazing creatures will entertain you for hours, together with the ducks, waterfowl and fish. Casino also holds a Beef Week every year, normally in May, which draws crowds from miles around and in January there is an “Artisans Food and Song Market which is great fun.

It is no wonder that this is a very desirable place to live, with two bed properties starting from as little as $175,000, it is perfect for the young and old alike.
