A beach villa is considered by many to function as either a vacation property or a full-time residence. Like many villas, these locations are often quite spacious; occupying acres or even hectares of land. The structures themselves are also generally large and are well-maintained (this is in direct comparison to a bungalow, for instance). A their name denotes, the main aspect of such locations is the fact that they are located at or near a beach. In fact, many such villas will also boast a private strip of beach itself with rights to the water that continue a certain distance from shore.
Beach villas are known to exist in the more rural areas of a region; often times miles away from the center of a town and other retail locations. While beach villas may be connected to surrounding locations by rail or bus, it is common for owners to require a vehicle to travel to and from the property. Thus, beach villas offer a sense of privacy that may be lacking in more residential and suburban areas.
Unsurprisingly, villas located at or near a beach will normally fetch a much higher price on the real estate market than those that are to be found inland. This will preclude many individuals with low to moderate levels of income from owning such a location. However, beach villas are quite a popular rental opportunity during the summer months and it is normal to rent these properties out for a period of weeks of months at a time.
