The town of Frankston is located on the edge of the picturesque Port Phillip Bay and is dubbed the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. The town boasts a beautiful beach as well as plenty of shops and restaurants and has a community feel that is reflected by the numerous activities that are arranged by the town residents all year round.
One of the great things about Frankston is that the big city of Melbourne is located just 40km from the town. Real estate is much more reasonably priced here than in Melbourne and a large number of people who work in the city choose to base themselves in Frankston and make the short commute to work each day. Ocean facing properties are easy to find here, while a wide range of other types of real estate options are available throughout the town.
Spending time on the beach is a popular activity among the residents of Frankston. The town also boasts an excellent Waterfront Reserve, while cycling is a great way to explore Frankston and the surrounding area and there are plenty of perfectly placed cycle paths for cyclists to follow. The picturesque George Pentland Botanic Gardens is also a great place to take a break and unwind for a while.
A number of special festivals and events are organised in Frankston throughout the year, and these provide excellent opportunities to have fun and meet the other residents of the town. The Waterfront Festival is hosted in January, while the Ventana Fiesta in March is held in honour of the town’s Latin American, Portuguese and Spanish residents. Pet owners will be able to take part in the Pets Day Out event in October, while the pretty Festival of Lights is held in the month of November.
